Toyota Tacoma Exhaust
One major characteristic of a good pickup truck is
its ability to perform perfectly both on pave road and off-road which
is true for the Toyota Tacoma. This is made possible with the help of a
strong suspension, chassis, body, wheels an of course, the engine. But
with engine that produces much power in every combustion, it also
produces great amount of exhaust that without a good exhaust system,
could be very fatal to the environment and the people. That is why
every Toyota Tacoma is equipped with a good and quality exhaust to
provide a long time service to the vehicle.
An exhaust is basically a series of pipes and
tubes that are interconnected to perform three tasks, that is, to
convert harmful exhaust gases into lesser harmful one, to lessen the
noise created by the combustion, and to guide these gases in to one
direction away from the engine. The major parts of the exhaust system
starts with exhaust manifold, exhaust pipe, catalytic converter,
muffler and tailpipe Air Pump. Other parts include cylinder head, EGR
valve, exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust port, PCV valve, and resonator.
After the combustion, engine releases gases which
are then collected by the exhaust manifold, the first part of the
exhaust system. The exhaust manifold is located right at the cylinder
head and usually located under the intake manifold. Composed of several
parts which are allocated at each cylinder of the engine, the manifold
directs the gases to the catalytic converter. The cat converter
converts harmful gases like hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen
oxides into lesser harmful gases before it reaches the air. The muffler
reduces a significant amount of noise (noise which is produced from
explosion or combustion). The last part of the exhaust system is the
tailpipe, the only visible part of the exhaust system when view at the
rear of the vehicle. The tail pipe performs the last function of the
exhaust system that is to direct the exhaust gases away from the
engine. With that the exhaust successfully converts, reduces the noise,
and directs away the exhaust gases. |
