Pontiac Firebird Body Part
When the Ford Motor Company introduced its
sporty Mustang in mid-1964, it spawned the “pony car” market. It was an
immediate success and Ford had painstakingly scooped the auto industry
that Chevrolet took until the fall of 1966 to respond with its Camaro.
It was also a success; so naturally, Pontiac wanted a pony car too. And
when Pontiac finally got into the act in the middle of 1967, they
introduced the Pontiac Firebird. It was offered in both coupe and
convertible body styles. This vehicle shared the same General Motors
“F-Body” platform as the Chevy Camaro.
The Pontiac Firebird was characterized by its aggressive styling and
affordable muscle car performance. Because Pontiac aims to provide its
consumers nothing but the best, Firebirds were provided with the best
suspension and most powerful engine. All Firebirds were, for the most
part, powered by a variety of V8 motors of different GM divisions and
all have always included solid rear axles. Pontiac really tried to make
the Firebird their own and would create a European styled and mannered
pony car that could hold its own against its more experienced
competition. The overall package of the Pontiac Firebird was a proof to
that.

Aside from the powerful engine which were really intended to provide
out-and-out muscle car performance in a smaller package, Pontiac also
included a longer nose with Pontiac’s identifying split grille with a
chrome plated surround, and quad headlamps. These characteristics have
made the Pontiac Firebird enjoyable to ride, attractive and reliable.
But it came to a point that the sales were flagging, and industry
rumors began to circulate that the Firebird days were numbered.
In September 2001, the announcement finally came and in 2002, Firebirds
finally came to an end. So, for those car aficionados that still
possesses this superb pony car, proper care and regular maintenance is
needed if you still want to prolong the life of your vehicle. Pontiac
