Mercury Sable Catalytic Converter
Coming in two different body styles – the 4-door sedan and station wagon, the
Mercury Sable joined the automobile lineup of Ford Motor Company’s Mercury Division.
Said automobile was released in 1985 for the 1986 model year as an upscale version
of the Ford Taurus, a midsize car sold by the Ford Motor Company in North America
as a sedan and station wagon. What separates it from other vehicles is its full-width
headlamp, or “lightbar” that makes its unique fascia, and what’s great about this
feature is that it set a trend for other makes and models to follow.
Within the life span of the Mercury Sable of almost two decades, it went through
a lot of changes. Of these changes, some were notable while others were not. Practically,
the landmark changes happened in year of 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2005 when it came
to rest terminally. Nonetheless, evident in Mercury Sable automobiles are the

converter.
A catalytic converter is a very useful device in abating the worsening air pollution
in our society. We may not notice how our beloved cars contribute in this problem

and makes use of chemicals that act as a catalyst that causes a reaction between
other chemicals without being affected itself. With the use of catalytic converters,
pollutants are changed from harmful gases to harmless ones before they leave the
