GMC Van Parts
For the most of the company’s history, GMC has been one of the most formidable
automaker that exclusively making top class truck. Started in 1902 by Max Grabowski
as the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company, GMC produced some of the earliest commercial
trucks ever designed. In 1909, the General Motors bought Rapid and was renamed
named General Motors Truck Company. Since then, this exclusive truck producing
division of the GM was known as the GMlC Truck. Just recently in 1996, “Truck”
was removed from the name hence the GMC became the brand we know today. Together
with the removal of the Truck in the name was the introduction of the several
other GMC models including the GMC’s own redisigned van version.

Originally, the first GMC van was introduced in 1965- the GMC Savana. This was
GMC’s full-size van. From its introduction, the Savana was kept up to date with
its competition but redesign has not became an option for the next three decades
until in 1995 when GMC has decided to improve the overall image of the Savana
from the interior to the exterior, engine, and features which resulted to an incomparable
look both inside and out from its previous models. The GMC van became more exiting
than ever before.
Today, the GMC Savana rides on a 135-inch standard wheelbase which comes in half-ton,
three-quarter-ton and one-ton framework. The new GMC van is available in two trims:
the base which features air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo and a theft-deterrent
system and the SLE which has the rear-seat climate controls, power windows and
door locks, cloth upholstery, cruise control, a tilt steering wheel and keyless
entry. The power driver and front-passenger seats, the OnStar communications system
and an upgraded audio system with an in-dash six-disc CD changer are optional.

The GMC van is available in three engine options: 4.3-liter V6 rated at 195 horsepower
and 260 pound-feet of torque is standard for the two wheel-drive half-ton model,
the all-wheel-drive half-tons has a standard 5.3-liter V8 with 295 hp and 325
lb-ft of torque engine which is at the same time optional on two-wheel-drive versions,
and the 6.0-liter V8 rated at 300 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque is standard for the
three-quarter- and one-ton models.
Safety is assured on the GMC truck with four-wheel antilock disc brakes standard
on all trims. a front-passenger sensing system is available for the light-duty
models while the manual airbag deactivation switch for the front passenger is
available for the heavy-duty models.
