Driving a vehicle on the off-road track is fun, especially if the vehicle you
are driving is a very capable off-road tracker, just like the GMC trucks. Off-road
driving, however, is never all fun. While it can bring out the adventurism in
you, it may also bring in a lot of damage on your truck. Rocks, gravel and other
flying debris from the off-road environment may greatly damage the exterior of
your truck. Then, off-road mud, dust, grime and other carpet hazards may stick
and stay on the carpet of your truck. You don’t want any of these things to happen
on your elegant truck, right?!
The good news is that there are many exterior accessories that can protect the
body of your GMC from off-road damages. Mud guards, fenders, bug shields, and
other exterior protective accessories can easily prevent too much off-road debris
from hitting your vehicle’s exterior. When it comes to protecting your GMC’s interior,
however, the accessories are limited to GMC floor mats and GMC floor liners; and
your choice of accessory must depend on your vehicle’s needs.
Floor mats would do fine in protecting the carpet of vehicles used on cruising
around town. But when it comes to off-road driving, a GMC floor liner would work
better. Floor liners are heavy-duty, waterproof carpet protectors. Like floor
mats, these accessories are designed to contain spills, mud, snow and other carpet
hazards. They can also be removed easily for cleaning. Floor liners, however,
tend to protect the vehicle’s carpet better than floor mats.
Floor liners are usually made from water-tight materials like high-impact plastic
or marine-grade carpet. They also have a taller outer rim compared to floor mats,
allowing them to contain spills, mud and other carpet hazards better. Further,
most GMC floor liners available in the market today are custom-fitted or contoured
on the floor pan of your specific GMC, so you can be assured that every inch of
carpet inside your vehicle is covered.
